Power BI Administrator

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Administrator to manage, govern, and optimize the organization’s Power BI environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administration, security, performance monitoring, capacity management, and compliance alignment of the Power BI Service across Dev, UAT, and Production environments.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Power BI Service Administration
- Administer and manage Power BI Tenant settings.
- Configure and maintain workspaces, security groups, and access controls.
- Manage Power BI deployment pipelines (Dev → UAT → Prod).
- Monitor tenant usage and performance metrics.
- Manage Premium capacities and workspace assignments.
🔹 Security & Governance
- Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS).
- Enforce Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.
- Configure external sharing policies.
- Implement least-privilege access control.
- Conduct periodic access reviews and audit checks.
- Ensure compliance with SOC 2 / enterprise security standards.
🔹 Monitoring & Performance Optimization
- Monitor dataset refresh failures and gateway issues.
- Optimize capacity usage and refresh schedules.
- Troubleshoot report performance and service issues.
- Maintain gateway configuration (On-Premises Data Gateway).
- Perform root cause analysis for production incidents.
🔹 DevOps & ALM
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Manage version control of Power BI artifacts.
- Automate deployment using Power BI REST APIs.
- Support environment promotion strategies.
- Maintain documentation for release and change management.
🔹 User Support & Enablement
- Provide L2/L3 support for Power BI users.
- Train users on governance best practices.
- Maintain documentation and operational runbooks.
- Coordinate with data engineering and DevOps teams.
Required Skills
- 3–6 years of experience in Power BI administration.
- Strong knowledge of Power BI Service tenant configuration.
- Experience managing Power BI Premium capacities.
- Hands-on experience with On-Premises Data Gateway.
- Strong understanding of Azure Active Directory integration.
- Experience with DAX and data modeling (administrative level).
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines.
- Strong SQL knowledge.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in SOC 2 or compliance-driven environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (if applicable).
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell for automation).
- Understanding of data governance frameworks.
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
Soft Skills

- Ability to work in Agile environments.
- Process-oriented and documentation-driven approach.
American Shift Requirements:
- This role requires availability for night shifts as needed to support global teams and ensure system maintenance during off-peak hours.
